Biography

Wilson Phillips is a vocal trio formed in 1990, consisting of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips. Their debut album produced three chart-topping singles: "Hold On," "Release Me," and "You're in Love." The group's members had musical backgrounds, with the Wilson sisters being daughters of Beach Boy Brian Wilson and Chynna Phillips being the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips from the Mamas & the Papas.

Partnering with industry figures like producer Richard Perry and songwriter Glen Ballard, Wilson Phillips released their self-titled debut album in 1990 under SBK Records. The album was a Grammy-nominated success, with three number one singles. Despite a short-lived time in the spotlight, the group reunited in 2003 to release a covers album titled California, followed by a holiday-themed album in 2010 and a tribute album in 2012.
