Brooklyn-born producer and vocalist Ricky Blaze made waves in the Jamaican dancehall scene with his hit collaborations, including producing Gyptian's "Hold You" and Ding Dong's "Badman Forward, Badman Pull Up" in the mid-2000s. Blaze's breakout year came in 2010 with Gyptian's international hit "Hold Yuh" and his own single "You and I," featuring Nicki Minaj and a remix with Jim Jones. He continued to make his mark with releases on labels like Atlantic Records and Fool's Gold Records, as well as collaborations with artists such as Diplo and Jim Jones.

In the following years, Ricky Blaze remained active in the music scene, releasing singles like "Take Ya Money" featuring Chelley on the Ultra label in 2014. He also dropped the solo cut "Look" in 2016 along with the Conquer the Moment mixtape, which included the single "Apart" featuring Alexus Rose.
