Formed in 1991 by Black C (Christian Mathews) and Mr. Cee (Kyle Church), RBL Posse's debut release "Don't Give Me No Bammer" reached #16 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. The group's subsequent albums, 'A Lesson to Be Learned' and 'Ruthless by Law,' achieved chart success, leading to a record deal with Atlantic Records subsidiary Big Beat. Despite lineup changes, including the tragic loss of member Hitman in 2003, RBL Posse continued to release music, with Black C pursuing a solo career and launching four albums under the name RBL's Black C, along with an upcoming book chronicling his life and music career in San Francisco.
