Hailing from Ames, Iowa, Radio Moscow is a psych-tinged blues-rock trio with a retro vibe reminiscent of classic power trios like Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Initially influenced by late '60s psychedelia, the band's sound evolved over the years to incorporate elements of doom and stoner metal, showcased in albums like The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz and Magical Dirt. Formed in 2004, the band caught the attention of Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach, who produced their debut album and helped them secure a deal with Alive Records.
With guitarist and vocalist Parker Griggs at the helm, Radio Moscow underwent lineup changes over the years, eventually solidifying into a power trio with bassist Anthony Meier and drummer Paul Marrone. Their dynamic evolution was captured in the 2016 release Live in California, followed by a record deal with Century Media Records and the heavy psych-infused album New Beginnings in 2017. Throughout their journey, Radio Moscow has stayed true to their vintage-inspired roots while exploring new sonic territories and solidifying their place in the modern rock scene.
