Biography

Tejano singer and accordionist Michael Salgado rose to fame in the mid-'90s with his norteño-inspired sound, influenced by Ramon Ayala. With his backing band comprising of Ernie and James on guitar and drums, respectively, and bass player Joe Tanguma, Salgado made his mark on the Latin music charts in 1995 with the hit single "Cruz de Madera." His album En Concierto in 1996 featured his popular single "Sin Ella," which became a Top 20 hit. Salgado continued his success with the release of Mi Primer Amor in 1997, solidifying his place in the industry.
