Biography
Formed in 1988 in Brighton, England, The Levellers blended pseudo-hippie folk-rock with Celtic influences. Their debut album, A Weapon Called the Word, led to success in the UK with Levelling the Land in 1991. Despite mixed reviews in later albums like Zeitgeist, the band remained popular among their devoted fan base. After a hiatus, they returned with Green Blade Rising in 2003 and continued to release albums, culminating in We the Collective in 2018, celebrating their 30th anniversary.
