Biography

Kurupt FM, a fictional U.K. garage collective and pirate radio station, was created by Allan Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin, with inspiration from The Office, Ali G, and This Is Spinal Tap. The BBC sitcom/mockumentary People Just Do Nothing, first airing in 2012, featured the hapless crew led by Mustafa as MC Grindah and Chegwin as DJ Beats. The show ran for five series before transitioning to the big screen in 2021's People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan.

In 2016, Kurupt FM released "Heart Monitor Riddim," their debut single, followed by the mix album Kurupt FM Present The Lost Tape in 2017. The group made live appearances, including a set at Glastonbury Festival, and in 2021, released their first album of original material, Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, featuring the single "Summertime" with Craig David. The crew continues to entertain audiences with their comedic lack of talent and self-awareness.
