Biography

Javed Ali, born Javed Hussain in the early 1980s, comes from a musical background with his father, Ustad Hamid Hussain, being a notable qawwali singer. Recognized for his singing talent by ghazal legend Ghulam Ali at a young age, Javed began his musical journey early on.

Encouraged by music director Kalyanji Virji Shah, Javed moved to Mumbai at the age of 15 to pursue a career in music, eventually adopting the name Javed Ali in tribute to Ghulam Ali's influence. Known for his work as a playback singer in Bollywood, Javed has collaborated extensively with A. R. Rahman and has also contributed to music in various regional languages in India. Additionally, he has released solo albums and appeared as a judge on popular reality TV shows.
