Claude Debussy

Claude Debussy, born Achille-Claude Debussy, was a highly influential composer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Known for blending modernism and sensuality in his compositions, he is considered a key figure in musical Impressionism. Debussy's innovative use of non-traditional scales and tonal structures influenced many composers who followed him.

Debussy began his musical journey at a young age, studying piano at the Paris Conservatory. Winning the prestigious Prix de Rome in 1884, he spent time in Rome before returning to create groundbreaking works like "Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune" and the opera "Pelléas et Mélisande." Despite personal challenges, including a tumultuous love life, Debussy's diverse body of work across various genres, from orchestral pieces to solo piano compositions and vocal works, solidified his reputation as a master of instrumental color and texture.
