Biography

Cheryl, formerly known as Cheryl Cole, rose to fame as a member of the record-breaking pop group Girls Aloud after auditioning for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. As a high-profile celebrity in the UK, she also appeared as a judge on The X Factor and released her solo debut album, 3 Words, in 2009, followed by Messy Little Raindrops in 2010. Her career in the US saw her briefly as a judge on the American X Factor before focusing on her music, releasing the successful album A Million Lights in 2012. Cheryl reunited with Girls Aloud for a tour in 2012, released the charity single "Something New," and later confirmed the group's permanent split in 2013.
