Buddy Miles

Buddy Miles, renowned as the drummer for Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys, also had a successful solo career blending rock, blues, soul, and funk. Starting in his father's jazz band as a youth, Miles went on to play with various jazz and R&B groups before joining the Electric Flag. After leaving the band, Miles formed his own group, Buddy Miles Express, releasing albums and collaborating with artists like Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters.

Miles continued his musical journey throughout the years, working with John McLaughlin and Carlos Santana, and releasing popular albums like Them Changes. In the '80s, he gained recognition as the lead singer of the California Raisins and rejoined Santana as the official lead vocalist. Miles remained active in the music scene, forming new bands and releasing albums well into the '90s.
