Yung Lean, born Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, emerged as a prominent Swedish rapper in the early 2010s, co-founding the Sad Boys crew with producers Yung Gud and Yung Sherman around 2012. The crew gained attention with tracks like "Ginseng Strip 2002," which went viral and led to the release of mixtapes and EPs. Lean's official debut album, Unknown Memory, was released in 2014 and achieved moderate success on various music charts. He continued to release music, including his sophomore album, Warlord, and mixtape Frost God, before transitioning towards a more mainstream pop-trap sound with his third album, Stranger, in 2017. In January 2019, Lean released the single "Creep Creeps."
