Ayanda Oratile Yumba, known professionally as Yumbs, is a multi-talented producer and DJ born in Kagiso in 2002. Yumbs began his musical journey at a young age, playing drums at his local church and later expanding his skills to bass, electric guitar, and piano while attending the National School of Art. He gained recognition as a drummer for Priddy Ugly and showcased his talents as the main composer and musical director for the production Hip-Hop Helmet at the Nelson Mandela Theatre in his senior year. Yumbs furthered his music education at the Academy of Sound Engineering, specializing in Audio Technology & Sound Engineering. In 2020, he entered the commercial music scene by co-producing tracks for artists such as Musa Keys, Cassper Nyovest, Slade, Babalwa M, and Kelvin Momo.
Yumbs has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Riky Rick, Major League, Blxckie, Ami Faku, Msaki, and Venom & Shishiliza on the hit single "Sondela" and served as the executive producer for Pabi Cooper's debut EP Cooperville. His extensive experience and contributions to various projects have solidified his presence in the music industry, showcasing his talent and versatility as a musician and producer.
