Liverpool-based tech house producer Yousef Zaher, also known as Yousef, has been active in the music industry since the 1990s. Starting as a DJ with global tours and residencies in Ibiza, he later expanded his career to include producing, event organizing, and owning a record label. Zaher's music evolved from functional dance tracks like "Spooky Action" to incorporating deep house elements and autobiographical themes in his full-length releases, such as his 2009 debut album and 2019's "9 Moor Drive."
Introduced to music through his brother's eclectic collection, Zaher quickly developed a passion for DJing and began honing his skills in his bedroom before landing club sets. Winning Muzik Mag's Bedroom Bedlam competition in 1998 marked a turning point in his career, leading to opportunities in Ibiza and the establishment of his own successful club night, Circus. Zaher's production career took off in 2001, with subsequent releases and the founding of his label Circus, which featured renowned artists like Carl Cox and Green Velvet. Over the years, Zaher continued to expand his musical repertoire, culminating in his deeply personal 2019 album, "9 Moor Drive," which delves into his formative years in Liverpool.
