Yasmin Williams is an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist known for her innovative playing techniques, which include alternate tunings, percussive hits, and lap tapping. Growing up in northern Virginia, she was exposed to a variety of musical genres and began playing the guitar in 2009 after being inspired by the video game Guitar Hero. Self-taught, Williams later expanded her skills to include bass, 12-string, and classical guitar before focusing on acoustic. Her accomplishments include winning local talent shows, being a finalist in the Rolling Stones Young Gun competition, and earning recognition at New York University's Ultra Violet Live talent show and Culpeper Has Talent. Her second album, "Urban Driftwood," has garnered critical acclaim from publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR, The Guardian, and the Washington Post.
