Willie Hutch

Willie Hutch, born Willie McKinley Hutchinson in Los Angeles, CA in 1946, was a prominent figure in Motown's "golden years." He gained recognition for penning hits for artists such as the 5th Dimension and the Jackson 5. Hutch also produced albums for Michael Jackson and Smokey Robinson in the early '70s. His work on the soundtrack for the 1973 film The Mack is considered notable for its funk-soul classics. Hutch released solo albums for Motown, briefly moving to Whitfield record company before returning to Motown. He collaborated with various artists, including the Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. Hutch passed away on September 19, 2005, at his home outside Dallas, TX.

Throughout his career, Hutch continued to release solo albums sporadically, including From the Heart (1994), The Mack Is Back (1996), and Sexalicious (2002). His diverse musical contributions spanned decades, from his early songwriting success to his later solo releases and collaborations with renowned artists. Hutch's legacy in the music industry endures through his influential work as a songwriter, producer, and solo artist until his passing in 2005.
