Tito Rojas, born Julio César Rojas López on June 14, 1955, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, was a respected salsa singer with a career spanning over five decades. He began his solo recording career in 1972 and gained national recognition in the late '70s with albums like Con Amor and Aqui. Rojas collaborated with various artists and released over 50 albums, with more than 60 charting singles, earning accolades such as three Latin Grammys for Best Salsa Album. He passed away on December 26, 2020, at the age of 65, following a heart attack.

Rojas' musical journey started in his youth, singing and writing songs in local bands. Throughout his career, he achieved commercial success and critical acclaim with hits like "Condename a Tu Amor" and "Senora de Madrugada." He founded his own label, TR, in the 2010s and continued releasing music, including the well-received album Un Gallo Para la Historia in 2019. Rojas remained a prominent figure in the salsa scene, performing in sold-out venues across the Caribbean and the Americas until his untimely passing.
