Biography

Formed in 1985 in Manchester, the Stone Roses, comprised of John Squire, Ian Brown, Reni, Andy Couzens, and Pete Garner, gained a devoted following for their blend of '60s guitar pop and acid house rhythms. Their 1989 debut album garnered critical acclaim, leading to a surge of similar bands in the U.K. Despite delays, the Stone Roses signed with Geffen Records in 1991 and released their second album, "Second Coming," in 1994, followed by lukewarm reception and lineup changes.

After a tumultuous period marked by legal battles and lineup shifts, the Stone Roses disbanded in 1996. Members pursued solo projects, with John Squire forming Seahorses, Ian Brown launching a solo career, and Mani joining Primal Scream. The band reunited in 2011, embarking on a successful tour and releasing new material in 2016 after a two-decade hiatus.
