Superdrag

Superdrag, often labeled a punk-pop or power pop band, defied genre boundaries by blending influences from British Invasion-style pop bands like the Beatles and the Zombies with noise rock elements from bands like My Bloody Valentine and Hüsker Dü. The band's history, much like their music, was marked by being a misunderstood "band's band," with frontman John Davis drawing comparisons to Big Star's Alex Chilton for his vocal style and songwriting approach.

Superdrag's journey included lineup changes, major label signings, and critical acclaim for albums like Regretfully Yours and Head Trip in Every Key. Despite experiencing setbacks with label support and lineup changes, the band persevered, releasing albums independently and eventually reuniting for shows and new recordings, culminating in the release of Industry Giants in 2009, marking a successful return for the original lineup.
