SUPERCAR

Formed in 1995 in Aomori, Japan, rock quartet Supercar consists of Nakako, Miki, Junji, and Kodai. Their debut single, "Cream Soda," was released in September 1997, followed by their first CD, "Three Out Change," in April 1998. The band's sound draws influence from artists like the Jesus and Mary Chain and Echo and The Bunnymen, blending textured guitar distortion with melodic vocal lines. Experimenting with techno elements, Supercar has incorporated drum loops and samples into their music, collaborating with outside artists and exploring new sonic territories. They have performed with bands like Pavement and showcased their music at events such as Austin's SXSW.

In 1999, Supercar released their second CD, "Jump Up," which achieved second place on the Japanese charts. They followed up with a compilation of outtakes, "OOKeah!!," before reissuing the CD alongside their fourth album, "OOYeah!!." Embracing a diverse range of influences, from the Chemical Brothers to Primal Scream, Supercar continues to evolve their sound by experimenting with different production techniques and incorporating electronic elements into their music.
