Minott's innovative style and ability to compose new lyrics to old songs helped shape the dancehall genre, with hits like "Vanity" and albums like Live Loving and Ghetto-ology revolutionizing Jamaican music.

Minott's prolific career saw him launching his own sound system and labels, nurturing young talent, and releasing numerous albums and hit singles. His influence extended to the UK, where he achieved success with tracks like "Good Thing Going."
