Sub Focus, the alias of drum'n'bass producer and DJ Nick Douwma, quickly rose to prominence within two years of his debut, self-taught in music production from a young age. His breakout year came in 2005 with releases on Ram Records and remixing The Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up." Subsequent years saw annual releases on Ram Records, his full-length debut in 2009, and successful singles like "Kickstarts" for Example and "Endorphins" featuring Alex Clare. His second album, Torus, released in 2013, showcased collaborations with high-profile vocalists and singles that gained him increasing recognition.

Following the success of Torus, Sub Focus continued to release singles that highlighted his jungle and garage roots, including "Love Divine," "Nobody Knows," and "Lingua" featuring Stylo G in 2017. Collaborations with vocalists like Alma on "Don't You Feel It" further solidified his standing in the music industry, showcasing his versatility and ability to blend genres in his production.
