Biography

Staind, a nu-metal band from New England, was formed in 1995 and gained mainstream success in 2001 with their album Break the Cycle, featuring the hit "It's Been Awhile." After a hiatus in 2011, the band re-formed in 2019 and released Confessions of the Fallen in 2023.

The band's origins trace back to Springfield, Massachusetts, where vocalist Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok met in 1993. Staind's early years involved extensive touring and self-released albums before catching the attention of Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, leading to a record deal and subsequent success with albums like Dysfunction and Break the Cycle.
