Stadio, a prominent Italian pop band, was founded in 1979 by Gaetano Curreri, Ricky Portera, Marco Nanni, Fabio Liberatori, and Giovanni Pezzoli. They gained mainstream attention in 1984 with the hit "Chiedi Chi Erano i Beatles" before undergoing lineup changes that led to a successful resurgence in 1989 with Puoi Fidarti di Me. Throughout their career, Stadio achieved commercial success with albums like Siamo Tutti Elefanti Inventati and singles such as "Ballando al Buio" and "Sorprendimi." The band continued to make waves in the music scene, participating in the San Remo Festival and releasing albums like L'Amore Volubile and Parole Nel Vento, until the passing of drummer Giovanni Pezzoli in 2022 at the age of 70.
