Biography
Spearhead, the musical project of singer/songwriter Michael Franti, blends reggae, rock, hip-hop, funk, and EDM in a politically charged manner. Initially solely credited to Spearhead, the name evolved to represent Franti's backing band, with a changing lineup over the years. Franti's socially conscious lyrics have transitioned the band's sound from funk and rap to a more laid-back style in albums like The Sound of Sunshine and SoulRocker.
