Originally from Dublin, Marcus Lambkin made a name for himself in New York's club scene as a DJ in the early '90s before transitioning to producing and remixing under the moniker Shit Robot in 2006. His eclectic mix of electro, deep house, Detroit techno, and rave caught the attention of LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, leading to releases on DFA label. Lambkin's DJing and remixes expanded his global presence, culminating in albums like From the Cradle to the Rave (2010), We Got a Love (2014), and What Follows (2016), featuring collaborations with notable artists.

Shit Robot's journey continued with releases like "Teenage Bass"/"Space Race" (2012) and the "Rishi" single in collaboration with Kai P and Rino S in 2015.
