Shakatak, a British jazz-funk-pop ensemble formed in 1980, quickly gained success with hits like "Easier Said Than Done" and "Down on the Street." Led by instrumentalists Bill Sharpe and Roger Odell, along with vocalist Jill Saward, the group released a series of instrumental albums in Japan while maintaining international popularity with albums like "Manic and Cool" and "Open Your Eyes."

Throughout the years, Shakatak continued to evolve their sound with albums such as "Full Circle" and "View from the City," maintaining a strong presence in the jazz and pop music scene. Celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2010, they released "Across the World" and continued their musical journey with releases like "On the Corner" in 2014 and "Times and Places" in 2016.
