Biography
Formed in 2009, British duo Seahawks, comprised of Jon Tye and Pete Fowler, have built a diverse discography blending new age, yacht rock, and cosmic disco with psychedelic imagery inspired by oceanography and sci-fi. Releasing numerous full-lengths and EPs since 2010 on their own Captains Log and Ocean Moon imprints, Seahawks have collaborated with artists like Tim Burgess and Maria Minerva, and have remixed tracks for 2 Bears and the Horrors. Their 2019 album, Celestial Railroads, with duo Woo, showcased their eclectic sound, leading to 2022's jazz-infused Infinite Echo and 2024's downtempo exotica album, Time Enough for Love.
Seahawks' early years saw a flurry of releases, including their debut full-length, Ocean Trippin', in 2010, followed by a string of singles and albums like Invisible Sunrise and Aquadisco in subsequent years. Embracing a dancefloor-friendly side with releases like Adventures in the Land of Woo and Phantom Sunset: Invisible Sunrise Remixed, the duo shifted towards a new age-influenced sound with Escape Hatch in 2016. With Eyes of the Moon in 2019 and Island Visions in 2020, Seahawks continued to evolve their sonic palette, culminating in 2024's Time Enough for Love, a nod to post-rave exotica inspired by Harry Nilsson demos.
