Biography

Phoenix-based sextet Scary Kids Scaring Kids emerged in the early 2000s, delivering impassioned post-hardcore that veered between spastic energy and melodic calm. The band, including members Tyson Stevens, DJ Wilson, Peter Costa, and Chad Crawford, gained attention for their intense live performances and released their debut EP, "After Dark," in 2003. Following a deal with Immortal Records, their debut album, "The City Sleeps in Flames," produced by Brian McTernan, was released in 2005. Scary Kids' self-titled sophomore album, produced by Don Gilmore, marked a more focused approach and led to a major-label deal with RCA in 2008. However, the band disbanded in 2009 before completing their third album, with lead singer Tyson Stevens tragically passing away in 2014.
