Biography

Sade, formed in 1983, is a British band known for blending jazz, R&B, and pop in their music. Led by singer and songwriter Sade Adu, the band has released six albums, all of which have achieved platinum status in the U.K. and U.S. Sade has won four Grammy Awards and has been recognized for their hits such as "Smooth Operator," "The Sweetest Taboo," and "No Ordinary Love."

Born in Nigeria, Sade Adu moved to England as a child and began her music career after studying fashion at Saint Martin's School of Art. The band's debut album, "Diamond Life," released in 1984, was a commercial success, followed by hit albums like "Promise" and "Stronger Than Pride." Sade's most recent album, "Soldier of Love," was released in 2010, earning critical acclaim and a Grammy Award. The band returned in 2018 with new songs for film soundtracks.
