Biography
Formed in 1973 in Scotland, Runrig began as a trio before expanding their lineup to include Donnie Munro in 1974. The band evolved through several member changes before solidifying their roster with the MacDonald brothers, Munro, Peter Wishart, Iain Bayne, and Malcolm Jones. Known for their fusion of traditional Scottish folk music and anthemic rock, Runrig has released over a dozen studio albums showcasing their pride in heritage and energetic performances. While achieving popularity in Britain, the band maintains a cult following in America within the Celtic and folk music scenes.
Runrig's discography includes notable albums such as Play Gaelic (1978), Heartland (1985), The Cutter and the Clan (1987), Amazing Things (1993), The Stamping Ground (2001), and Everything You See (2007).
