Biography

Formed in Genoa in 1967, I Ricchi e Poveri initially consisted of two female voices, Angela Brambati and Marina Occhiena, along with two male voices, Franco Gatti and Angelo Sotgiu. Marina embarked on a solo career in 1981 while Franco departed in 2016 to focus on family. The band reunited in February 2020, with Angela and Angelo leading the original lineup to celebrate their 50-year milestone, including their iconic hit "La prima cosa bella" and first appearance at Sanremo. Known as one of Italy's best-selling artists globally, they have participated in twelve editions of Sanremo, achieving two second-place finishes and winning in 1985 with "Se m'innamoro," with hits like "Che sarà," "Sarà perché ti amo," "Mamma Maria," and "Voulez vous danser." In 2017, they embarked on an international tour and in 2018 celebrated their 50th anniversary with the show "50 ANNI DI... RICCHI E POVERI," debuting at the Teatro Colosseo in Turin.

Their latest release, "REUNION," a double album featuring 21 hits, celebrates their legacy with a unique surprise: a special appearance by José Feliciano on the 50th anniversary rendition of "Che sarà." Produced by DM Produzioni and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Italy, the album marks a significant milestone in their enduring career.
