Rasputina, the pioneering all-cello rock band founded in 1991 by Melora Creager, emerged as a platform for literate young women seeking to rock out on the cello while embracing a distinctive Victorian underthings costumery inspired by classic movie scenes. The band's eclectic songwriting delves into strange and tragic historical situations, complemented by crowd-pleasing covers such as Heart's "Barracuda" and Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."

With a rotating line-up over the years, Rasputina has maintained a devoted following through relentless touring, showcasing Melora's design talents on most of the band's album covers, incorporating Victorian 'women's work' techniques.
