Biography

Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a Pakistani qawwali singer, was born in Faisalabad and began training in the art of qawwali music at a young age under the guidance of his uncle, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Joining his uncle's group at 15, Rahat eventually took over leadership of the ensemble after Nusrat's passing in 1997. Known for his emotionally charged performances, Rahat has collaborated with various artists and released his U.S. debut album produced by Rick Rubin.
