Biography
Formed in Halifax in 1993 by Amanda Braden, Nina Martin, and sisters Carla and Lynette Gillis, Plumtree quickly gained recognition for their punk-pop sound. With influences ranging from blues to heavy metal, the quartet released singles and their debut album, Mass Teen Fainting. Despite lineup changes, including Martin's departure in 1996, Plumtree continued to achieve success with the release of Predicts the Future in 1997, featuring the track "Scott Pilgrim" that inspired a graphic novel series. Their final album, This Day Won't Last at All, was released in 2000 before the band bid farewell in July of that year.
