Paris Jones, initially known for her songwriting skills, transitioned into a successful solo R&B artist in 2015. She gained recognition for her work on tracks by artists such as Chris Brown, Tyga, Boosie Badazz, Charlie Puth, and Ty Dolla $ign. Signing with Atlantic, she released her debut EP, Walking Around Pools, followed by her full-length album Rare in the subsequent year. Drawing comparisons to Jazmine Sullivan and Snoh Aalegra, Rare showcased her down-to-earth approach to R&B, focusing on everyday life themes and minimal guest appearances. Paris continued her songwriting success by collaborating with Kevin Gates, Fantasia, and others.
