Pilot

Formed in 1973, Scottish power pop band Pilot consisted of David Paton on bass and vocals, Billy Lyall on synthesizer and vocals, and Stuart Tosh on drums, with guitarist Ian Bairnson joining after their first album. Their 1975 single "January" from the album ‘Second Flight’ became their biggest hit, reaching number one. Despite subsequent albums and moderate hits, Pilot eventually disbanded, with members moving on to projects such as The Alan Parsons Project and 10cc. David Paton continued with a solo career, collaborating with artists like Elton John and releasing albums such as 2007's "Fellow Man" and 2019's "The Traveller."

Pilot's success in the 1970s was highlighted by their hit single "January," which propelled them to stardom. Following the band's breakup, members pursued other musical endeavors, with David Paton collaborating with various artists and releasing solo albums. The band briefly reunited in 2002 for the album "Blue Yonder." David Paton's solo career has been marked by a series of album releases, including "Fellow Man," "Under the Sun," "A Pilot Project," and "The Traveller." With a rich musical history and collaborations with renowned artists, Paton continues to showcase his talent and creativity in his solo work.
