Phoniks, a hip-hop producer from Portland, Maine, is renowned for his 90s boom bap production style and soulful jazz samples. With over 100 million plays in the last 5 years, his collaborations with artists like Awon and remixes of Wu-Tang and Biggie Smalls have garnered widespread acclaim. In 2015, Phoniks and Awon founded Don't Sleep Records, specializing in limited edition vinyl releases of their signature soul-infused hip hop. Their documentary "Underdogs: A Unique Hip Hop Story," released in 2018 in partnership with filmmaker Teo Frank, won awards at prestigious film festivals and was later featured on NETFLIX in December 2019, showcasing their journey as independent musicians and successful tours across Europe.
