Philip Selway, best known as the drummer for Radiohead, ventured into a solo career with the release of Familial in 2010, showcasing his talents as a singer-songwriter and guitarist. He further explored his musical range with the release of Weatherhouse in 2014, before delving into composing for films, such as the score for Let Me Go in 2017. Selway's latest album, Strange Dance, released in 2023, sees him collaborating with Valentina Magaletti, Marta Salogni, and Adrian Utley, blending experimental textures with subdued pop influences.

Selway's solo journey was influenced by his participation in Neil Finn's 7 Worlds Collide project, which led to collaborations with artists like Lisa Germano, Sebastian Steinberg, and members of Wilco. Familial, released in 2010, was a collaborative effort that showcased Selway's transition from percussion to lead vocals, setting the stage for his subsequent solo works.
