Biography
Formed in 1999, Filipino indie pop/alternative rock band Orange & Lemons was founded by singer-songwriter/guitarist Clem Castro, drummer Ace Del Mundo, and bassist JM del Mundo. Former member Mcoy Fundales served as second vocalist until the band's disbandment in 2007. Influenced by bands like The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads, their music blended alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental elements. Achieving commercial success with their 2005 album "Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot," which went double platinum, they were also recognized with the Album of the Year award at the 2007 NU Rock Awards for "Moonlane Gardens."
After a hiatus, Orange & Lemons reformed as a trio in 2017 and released the single "Lovers Go, Lovers Come" in December of that year. In 2018, they marked the 15th anniversary of their debut album with an updated version titled "Love in the Land of Rubber Shoes & Dirty Ice Cream (15th Anniversary Edition)." The band expanded by adding live keyboardist Jared Nerona in December 2018, who contributed to their Tagalog album "La Bulaqueña" released in April 2022.
