Biography

Olivia Foa’i, a singer, songwriter, and filmmaker, has a career dedicated to showcasing her Pacific Island heritage. A former member of the band Te Vaka, known for their work on Disney's 'Moana' soundtrack, Olivia has since launched a successful solo career. Her debut album 'Candid' earned her the title of 'Best Female Artist' at the 2020 and 2023 Pacific Music Awards, and won the Tui for Best Pacific Album at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards. Olivia's music often incorporates Gagana Tokelau, a language classified as "severely endangered" by UNESCO.

In addition to her music career, Olivia has delved into filmmaking, creating the theme song for the award-winning documentary "Pacific Mother." She released her second album, "Tūmau Pea," in 2023 and embarked on a tour that included headlining the Brisbane Festival's "Pasifika Made." Olivia is currently working on the soundtrack for 'Moana 2', collaborating with her father and Te Vaka family. She directed and starred in the music video for the credit song "We're Back (Te Vaka version)," released in 2025 through Disney Music.
