Biography

Obie Bermúdez, a singer/songwriter from Aibonito, Puerto Rico, relocated to Vineland, NJ at age 12. Following his debut album Locales in 1998, he took a hiatus from music to work in a South Bronx laundromat, drawing inspiration for his second album Confesiones, released in 2004. The album's alternative sound, including the hit single "Antes," propelled him to newfound success. Subsequent releases Todo el Año and Lo Que Trajo el Barco further solidified his place in the Latin music scene.

After marrying popstar Jennifer Peña in 2007 and becoming a father, Bermúdez briefly stepped away from music to focus on his family. He later appeared in the Broadway musical The Capeman in 2009 after releasing albums like Solo Exitos and participating in the theatrical production El Canto del Coquí.
