Biography

Hailing from Ghent, Belgium, Oathbreaker is a female-fronted extreme metal band known for their diverse blend of screamo, post-punk, shoegaze, sludge, and black metal influences. Formed in 2008 by guitarist Lennart Bossu, bassist Gilles Demolder, drummer Ivo Debrabandere, and vocalist Caro Tanghe, they quickly gained attention with their self-titled EP before signing with Deathwish Inc. to release their debut album, Maelstrom, in 2011. Their subsequent albums, Eros|Anteros in 2013 and Rheia in 2016, further solidified their reputation, with the latter marking a lineup change as new drummer Wim Coppers joined the band.
