Born in Brooklyn in 1973, he gained recognition through his smooth, intelligent raps and appeared on Organized Konfusion's single "Fudge Pudge" before releasing his own debut album, Word...Life, in 1994. Despite difficulties with his label, O.C. continued to make music, releasing albums like Jewelz in 1997 and Starchild in 2005, which earned critical acclaim.

In addition to his solo work, O.C. has collaborated with other artists, including A.G. and Apollo Brown, releasing albums like Oasis in 2008 and Trophies in 2012.
