Ben Lamdin, also known as Nostalgia 77, started as a jazz record collector and sampler in 2002 before forming the live band The Nostalgia 77 Octet, releasing their debut album 'Sevens and Eights' in 2006. The album, featuring tracks like "Freedom," won the 'Jazz Album of The Year' at Gilles Peterson's 2006 Worldwide Awards. Lamdin has collaborated with various musicians, including Jeb Loy Nichols, Keith Tippett, and Julie Tippetts. In 2014, he collaborated with Mike “Prince Fatty” Pelanconi on 'In The Kingdom of Dub,' blending dub and jazz roots with critical acclaim from various music publications and radio stations.

Since his last album 'Measures,' Lamdin has been busy writing, recording, and producing records for artists such as Jamie Cullum, Jerry David DeCicca, and The Last Poets, as well as working on his side project Game Show with Tim Giles and Matthew Bourne.
