Biography
The Nooran Sisters, Sultana and Jyoti, are prominent figures in the Sufi music genre, known for their soulful performances that capture the mystical essence of Islam. Hailing from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, they were trained in music by their father Ustad Gulshan Mir, a descendant of renowned Sufi singer Bibi Nooran. The duo gained fame with their 2012 hit "Tung Tung" on MTV India's MTV Sound Trippin and later made a mark in Bollywood with the song "Patakha Guddi" from the film Highway, composed by A.R. Rahman. Their success led to multiple awards and accolades, including Mirchi Music Awards, Global Indian Music Academy Awards, and Screen Awards. Since their debut album Yaar Gariban Da in 2015, the sisters have lent their voices to various Bollywood films, showcasing their versatile talent in genres ranging from sports-drama to comedy-drama.
