Formed in Sydney in 1985, Australian band Noiseworks rose to prominence in the late '80s with their hard rock sound inspired by both Australian pub bands like Cold Chisel and American groups such as Bon Jovi. Their self-titled debut album in 1987, featuring hit singles like "No Lies" and "Welcome to the World," went triple platinum in Australia, selling over 210,000 copies. The band's subsequent releases, including 1989's Touch and 1991's Love vs Money, did not match the success of their debut, leading to their breakup shortly after the latter album's release. Lead singer Jon Stevens pursued a successful solo career, while other members formed the band Electric Hippies in the mid-'90s.

In 1999, Noiseworks reformed as Noiseworks II, with Jon Stevens, Stuart Fraser, and Kevin Nichol returning to the group. The band's legacy lives on through their impactful debut album and hits like "Take Me Back," showcasing their ability to blend rock and dance elements. Despite their relatively short-lived success as a band, Noiseworks left a lasting imprint on the Australian rock scene of the '80s and '90s, with their music continuing to resonate with fans and inspiring new generations of musicians.
