Nelson Freitas, a singer and producer known for his contemporary R&B and Cape Verdean cola-zouk with hip-hop influences, began his solo career in 2006 with the release of "Magic." Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Freitas was a member of the zouk boy band Quatro before launching his successful solo career with collaborations with artists like Anselmo Ralph and Mayra Andrade, culminating in his fourth album "Four" in 2016.

Raised in a musical Cape Verdean household, Freitas co-founded the group Quatro in the late 1990s, later transitioning to Quatro Plus with his brother. Freitas' solo debut in 2006 was followed by albums like "My Life" in 2010 and "Elevate" in 2013, showcasing his versatile talent with songs in English and Cape Verdean Creole. His latest release, "Sempre Verão" in 2019, features collaborations with artists such as Djodje and Eddy Parker, continuing his legacy of blending genres and influences in his music.
