Over a decade ago, the persona of Mykki Blanco was born out of a video art project, initially inspired by Lil Kim’s alter ego ‘Kimmy Blanco.’ Evolving from a character on social media, Mykki Blanco's music has pushed hip-hop boundaries by blending noise and experimental elements with club and trap sounds. As a pioneering figure in the ‘queer rap’ sub-genre, Mykki Blanco has broken free from genre constraints, signifying a significant evolution in their music. Recently signed with Transgressive Records, Mykki Blanco's upcoming work showcases a more nuanced and genre-spanning approach, reflecting maturity and experience gained over the years collaborating with various artists, including Executive Producer FaltyDL.
