Mortician

Hailing from Yonkers, NY, Mortician is a grindcore-influenced death-metal duo consisting of vocalist/bassist Will Rahmer and guitarist/drum machine programmer Roger Beaujard. Despite their extreme sound, Mortician infuses humor into their music through song intros and the use of slasher-film samples, offering a unique take on a genre known for its dark and threatening nature. Signing with Relapse Records, Mortician released their debut album Mortal Massacre in 1993 and followed up with The House by the Cemetery EP in 1996 and the full-length Hacked Up for Barbecue in 1997. Subsequent releases included Zombie Apocalypse in 1998 and Chainsaw Dismemberment in 1999, with producer Desmond Tolhurst contributing guitar work on the latter.
